Scouts

Scouts meet during school terms on Wednesday evening 7.15pm to 9.00pm. The scout section involves boys and girls aged 10½ to 15. The troop is thriving with approx 22 scouts, approximately 40% girls / 60% boys.

Our program coming up is full of fun activities such as radio operation, scenic hikes, halloween dress-ups and games, and our DIY waterslide.

The Troop comprises three patrols (small groups of scouts – Quokkas, Owls and Falcons). Each patrol is led by a Patrol Leader together with an Assistant Patrol leader. A troop council (comprising older scouts, PLs and APLs) meets to make key decisions about the program, the patrols, discipline and other matters.

Scouts earn badges as they learn new skills and teach younger scouts. The troop enjoys camping, canoeing and hiking plus lots of other District events such as the District raft race, billy cart race, Big Bludge and the Stradbroke Cup competition camp. The troop actively supports Camberwell Showtime. Every three years there is a major national camp called Jamboree, which we actively support.
